Dog walker knocked unconscious by fellow dog walker in South Gloucestershire

Avon and Somerset Police is appealing for information after a dog walker was knocked unconscious by another dog walker whilst out with his animal in South Gloucestershire.

The man, in his 40s, was knocked unconscious after challenging another man whose dogs had chased his own.

In a statement police say it's believed "the offender punched the victim with a dog chain wrapped around his hand" - causing facial injuries.

The incident happened in a field south of Willsbridge at around 2:30pm on Saturday 7 December.

Police are appealing for witnesses who might have seen the incident.

The man is white, between 5ft 10inches and 6ft tall, of large build and greying hair.

He's thought to be in his late 30s or 40s and was wearing multiple layers of grey and blue clothing, and a gilet with lots of pockets and black wellies.

Police say the man had three dogs - thought to be two German Shepherds and a Bullmastiff-type dog.
