UK weather forecast: Staying cool and unsettled across the West Country for the next few days

We'll see further spells of rain and brisk winds for the coming few days, helping to make it feel quite cool for most.

The Atlantic is very busy at the moment with multiple areas of low pressure moving in from the west. Plenty of isobars on the chart too indicating strong winds.

As for this evening, there will be more spells of persistent rain for a time but by midnight most of us should be into a much more showery set up with plenty of cloud breaks but also some downpours moving through quickly on strong winds. It'll be a cold night again with lows of 3 or 4 degrees.

Friday will be a cold, showery day although showers may become slightly less frequent during the afternoon. A little snow is possible across the highest parts of Dartmoor, and it'll be colder with highs of 9 Celsius. The winds will make it feel colder still. There could also be some wet and windy weather giving a glancing blow to the far southwest in the evening.

The weekend looks as though it'll stay on the showery side, with some sunshine and brisk winds. However, Monday currently looks mostly dry with temperatures trying to get back into double figures.
