Missing Bristol boy back with family after being located in Spain

A missing boy from Bristol who has been missing for more than half-a-year has been found in Spain and reunited with his mother.

Angelo Jurado-Marmolejo was recovered by Spanish authorities at Madrid Airport at the weekend after he got off a flight from Mexico with his father, Rafael Jurado-Cabello.

Mr Jurado-Cabello, who was wanted on suspicion of child abduction, has been detained under the terms of an European arrest warrant.

This outcome follows a heartfelt appeal from Angelo’s mother Karol Marmolejo, who pleaded for her son’s safe return on ITV News West Country earlier this year.

Angelo was first reported missing on March 2, after his father failed to bring him home following a pre-arranged visit.

An investigation was launched by Avon and Somerset Police, who suspected he might have been taken abroad.

The force also worked with the National Crime Agency, Crown Prosecution Service and the Spanish authorities in order to bring Angelo home.
