Bristol eight-year-old wears shorts every day to give his grandad the 'trip of a lifetime'
An eight-year-old from Bristol has been wearing shorts every day for the past year to raise money to take his grandad and other local care home residents to the seaside.
Zane Donaghy, from Stoke Gifford, decided to wear shorts for the whole of 2019 to raise money for his grandad and other residents from Deerhurst Care Home.
In the past eleven months Zane has raised more than £1,500 - three times his original target.
On his online fundraising page, Zane pledged to wear shorts every day of this year, whatever the weather.

Zane's grandad, 85-year-old Douglas Oram, has dementia.
His young grandson has spent the past year fundraising so he can take the residents of Deerhurst to the beach for the day.
Zane has braved the wind, rain and even snow to give his grandad the perfect trip with friends.
He said, "I just wanted to do something nice and send my grandad and his friends to the seaside.
"I have worn shorts in the wind, the rain and even in the snow - I have to do it to give my grandad the trip of a lifetime."
His grandad has been receiving full-time care at Deerhurst Care Home since 2018.
Zane's mum, Lucy, said she's "so proud" of him for "thinking of others and wanting to do something nice for someone else."
The youngster has received overwhelming support from his school and the local community - but said he can't wait to put on a pair of "cosy pyjama bottoms" in 2020!
