Christmas tree from Dartmoor bound for Downing Street

A Christmas tree from Dartmoor will take pride of place on Downing Street this year after it was chosen as the official supplier for the festive season.

Family-run Dartmoor Christmas Trees will see one of their award-winning firs outside number 10 for the second time after being awarded Champion Grower prize at an annual competition.

The first won the prestigious prize back in 2016.

Stuart and Jennie Kirkup, who run the business, were awarded grower of the year alongside Best Natural Wreath, Runner up Best Other Fir (Fraser) and Best Nordman Fir.

The family has been been growing Christmas trees in the heart of Dartmoor for almost 20 years - and have so far won 36 industry awards for their trees and wreaths.

Stuart says their success is down to their passion about what they do and the dedication to producing beautiful trees that are local and sustainable.
