Where are the West Country battlegrounds?

  • Bath

  • Camborne and Redruth

  • Cheltenham

  • North Devon

  • Plymouth Sutton and Devonport

  • South Swindon

  • St Ives

  • Stroud

  • Totnes

  • Wells

At first the Conservatives looked confident in the 2017 election but as the night wore on and it became clear Labour was making inroads, the mood among the Tories changed.

The successful Conservative candidate looked worried while the Labour supporters sensed a shock result was possible.

In the end though the Tories got through but with a much reduced majority of 1500.
