Spectacular moment World War Two bomb blown up on Slapton Sands
Footage has been released of the moment the Royal Navy detonated a World War Two bomb on a Devon beach.
The unknown item was discovered after being washed up at the Torcross village end of Slapton Sands on Sunday [November 4] afternoon, following a bout of stormy weather.
It was detonated at about 5pm on Sunday evening.
The Royal Navy EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) have still not confirmed what the item was.
It is not uncommon for old wartime explosives to be found in the area as it was used during World War II as the training ground for the D-Day landings.
