Dartmoor Miniature Pony Centre to sell its animals after announcing sudden closure

After welcoming families for the final time this weekend, the Miniature Pony Centre on Dartmoor will be putting their much loved animals up for sale.

The attraction has been running near North Bovey for more than 30 years and sees around 35,000 visitors each season.

The popular centre was put on the market last year for £1.7 million but after failing to find a buyer the family owners made the 'extremely difficult decision' to call it a day.

From Monday 28th October, the owners are looking to find new homes for the 70 ponies, horses and donkeys they care for, with prices ranging from £500 to £3,500.

Manager Joanna Ginsberg says they will be fully vetting the homes of everyone who wants to buy one of their animals.
