Alex Beresford reveals how he encourages talking at home by reducing screen time
ITV Weather presenter Alex Beresford has revealed his top tips to improve discussion at home.
He explains how he reduces screen time in his house, to allow more time for discussion.
It is all part of ITV's major new mental wellness campaign 'Britain Get Talking' which was launched on Saturday night by Ant and Dec during Britain's Got Talent.
The campaign is supported by Young Minds and Mind, and is the first initiative in the ITV Campaign for Mental Wellness, a five year project in partnership with the charity Mind.
This Thursday, October 10, is World Mental Health Day, and ahead of it, Alex Beresford is discussing how he encourages discussion at home.
Dermot O'Leary, Gordon Ramsay, Gino D'Acampo, Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Jonathan Ross, Myleene Klass and Amanda Holden are among those supporting the five-year programme, which aims to improve the mental or physical health of some 10 million people.
Britain Get Talking, a riff on the flagship show's acronym, is also backed by mental health charities Mind and YoungMinds, and SAMH in Scotland.
If you or someone you know is suffering from mental health problems, there is advice and support available.
