Fire rips through Bristol children's play park overnight after possible arson attack

A children's play park in Bristol was badly damaged last night [September 30] after what is thought to be an arson attack.

The climbing frame in Blaise Castle park, in the Henbury area of Bristol, has been completely destroyed by the fire.

Crews from Avon Fire and Rescue Service responded to calls of a fire in the park just off Kings Weston Road at around 8.40pm.

A spokesperson for the authority confirmed the blaze is thought to have been started deliberately, with arsonists targeting the treehouse, climbing frame and tube slides.
