Four protesters have been found guilty and sentenced for obstructing the highway after chaining themselves to a bath tub during Extinction Rebellion (XR) protests in July.

The protesters had to be freed by a specialist removal team.

It was part of a week-long series of protests by Extinction Rebellion in Bristol during July.

All four were given a 12 month conditional discharge and told to pay court costs of between £180 and £250.

Last week, an additional eight people were found guilty of obstructing the highway during the same XR protests.

They glued themselves to the road and bath tub and were also given 12 month conditional discharges and told to pay court costs.
