Kayakers rescued after writing SOS message in sand near Padstow
A group of kayakers who wrote 'We're Stuck!' in the sand to flag down help have been reunited with the team who rescued them.
They wrote the message in the sand after getting trapped in a cove near Padstow.
The men from Cheltenham stopped on the small Cornish beach to eat lunch and quickly became trapped.
Failing to call for help, they drew a large SOS in the sand, and finally attracted people from above who called for a lifeboat.
The four men have now been reunited with the RNLI team who rescued them from the cove.
Michael Tamsley, one of the four, said, "We had one that was capsizing so that wasn't too bad but getting back into the boat we had another kayak capsizing which then started to kind of sink.
"So we couldn't get both the guys back into that kayak. It was sort of one or none. So we were in a bit of a pickle at that point".
