Emotional tributes are being paid to Longleat Safari Park's oldest female tiger who's died from cancer.

The park announced the news on social media on Thursday 29 August.

Ian, Caleb and Amy - keepers at Longleat - said it was "with deep sadness" that their oldest female tiger, called Soundari, has died from cancer.

They described Soundari as a "spectacular individual" and "magnificent friend" who will be "sadly missed by everyone".

Tributes are being paid by staff and members of the public on social media.

One post has attracted more than 1,000 comments and has been shared more than 500 times by those leaving condolence messages and sharing their memories of the animal.
