Bristol community radio station crowdfunding after studio fire
More than £2,000 has already been raised to help Bristol's first community radio station after their studio was destroyed in a fire.
On Thursday 8 August, the fire broke out of their main studio, burning crucial equipment, and taking them off-air during a live broadcast.
They have now set up a crowdfunding campaign which hopes to raise enough money to replace and rebuild a new studio in Easton.
So far £2,370 has been raised towards the £8,000 target.
It is thought the cost of the damage is more than £15,000.
The radio station is insured but it's not known how much of the damage this will cover.
The crowdfunding page has even attracted celebrity supporters such as Bristol actor, Joe Sims.
BCfm is a registered charity with more than 200 volunteers who have been broadcasting across Bristol since 2007.
They have said, if there is any remaining money from the crowdfunding, that it will go towards training future volunteers and running the studio.
They have uploaded a video on their crowdfunding page which shows the extent of the damage.
