A sunfish has been spotted off the coast of Cornwall, despite being native to warmer, more tropical waters.

The rare species was snapped by a keen eyed snorkelling group who described the find as "one of Cornwall's strangest visitors".

Photographer Constance Morris captured the extraordinary footage at Mount's Bay.

The sunfish is so rare that the species is classified as vulnerable. This one was around a metre long, but they can grow up to four metres in length.

As the name might suggest, sunfish are most often seen basking on the surface of the water near the sun.
