Bid to track down Torquay's mystery mobility scooter taxi driver

Authorities are keen to track down a mobility scooter driver offering late night taxi rides to party goers in Torquay.

Torbay Council is looking to identify the driver after reportedly receiving complaints about the operation.

The resourceful racer is apparently charging revellers in the town for lifts between pubs and clubs or even a ride home.

The mobility scooter and rider have been spotted around Debenhams in the town. One eyewitness says they saw "about five people hanging off the side" of the vehicle.

A spokesperson for Torbay Council said the authority is aware of the mystery mobility scooter.
