'Severe fire damage' to staff accommodation after fire breaks out at Butlin’s Minehead resort
Footage has emerged of crews tackling a fire that broke out at the Butlin’s resort in Minehead on Monday (July 29).
It started in a staff caravan shortly after 3:00pm and required the attendance of Devon and Somerset firefighters.
Pictures of the scene show flames and large plumes of smoke billowing from the roof of the accommodation.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to Butlin’s in Warren Road to a fire at a two-floor chalet.
Butlin's said the fire was in a staff accommodation building and was safely put out "within minutes".
On social media, Butlin’s said the fire had been isolated to the staff caravan.
Devon and Somerset Fire Service confirmed it received a call shortly before 3pm yesterday afternoon.
There were nine appliances in attendance and "severe fire damage" to the roof and chalet.
Nobody has hurt in the incident.
