Bristol F1 star Lando Norris agrees McLaren contract extension
Bristol-born Formula 1 racing driver Lando Norris has agreed a contract extension with McLaren.
The 19-year-old, who was born in Bristol and grew up in Glastonbury, made his Formula 1 debut with McLaren earlier this year.
Competing in nine Grand Prixs, the teenager has made an impressive start to his Formula 1 career and currently sits in eighth place in the drivers’ championship table.
McLaren announced he will continue racing for the team next season alongside Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr. earlier today, retaining both on multi-year contracts.
Bosses said Norris had “more than proved himself” with his performances on the track so far this year, and were “delighted” with their current driver pairing.
