Delays for drivers throughout Gloucestershire as aeroplane and giant boat are transported
An aeroplane and a giant boat will be causing delays for two days as they are transported across Gloucestershire.
The boat will be leaving Sharpness Dock at 9am today, Tuesday 2nd July. Gloucestershire Constabulary will be escorting the giant load along the A38 towards the Almondsbury interchange today.
Drivers travelling on this route have been advised to leave extra time for delays throughout the day.
Following the boat will be a Boeing aeroplane body which is being escorted through the county tomorrow, Wednesday 3rd July.
The departure is set for around 9.30am from Kemble airfield. It will then travel along the A429 and A417 to Junction 11A of the M5.
Road users around the Crickley Hill roundabout have been warned of temporary disruption as traffic will be held whilst the epic manoeuvre is undertaken.
All those travelling through the county today and tomorrow should be aware of the extra time it may take.
Traffic is expected to return to normal by Thursday 4th July.
