Teams from across the UK meet up to race wheelie bins in Weston-super-Mare
Teams from across the UK have been competing in the The National Refuse Championships held in Weston-super-Mare.
The event is an annual celebration of the people who collect our waste and recycling and is a test of strength and stamina.
Over 30 teams compete in heats throughout the day, loading wheelie bins with bags of sand before pushing them 50m to empty into waiting vehicles.
This is the third time the family event has been held in the seaside town.
It's free to members of the public to watch and there is a raffle held, with all the money being donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.
The winning team will be crowned the National Refuse Champions 2019 and given a trophy.
