Special Olympian from Barnstaple has £3,000 bike stolen from locked garage

Daniel Weston won gold in the 25km road race in Abu Dhabi

A bike belonging to a Special Olympics road race champion from Barnstaple has been stolen.

Daniel Weston won a gold medal in Abu Dhabi earlier this year, and is due to race at the Great Britain Nationals in less than two months.

The bike, worth more than £3,000, is Daniel's 'lifeline' according to his family.

Daniel's family are devastated his bike has been taken and want to find a way to replace it

Daniel has autism and lives independently, working as a commis chef in the kitchen at the Barnstaple Hotel.

He says he is devastated about losing his bike, something he uses to aide his independence.
