Weekend scorcher - The West Country's set to be hotter than Ibiza
This half term week has been a bit topsy turvy, with a changeable start replaced with some warm and sunny weather from Thursday.
It's high pressure nudging in from the south that's settled things down and the same high pressure that'll drag up warm air from France and Spain for Saturday.
It might be a bit of a cloudy and murky start for some of us, but in time the sun will break through and it should turn into a very warm day.
Bristol and Gloucester should get into the mid twenties, and we're likely to reach 20 Celsius down in Cornwall too, but there could be some sea mist around southern coasts for a time holding temperatures back.
The last time we had similar heat was back on 19 April when Treknow in Cornwall recorded 25.8 °C, so there's every chance that Saturday could be the warmest day of the year.
If that's the case, the West Country would be hotter than Rome and Ibiza!
How long will it last? Well, not long at all sadly, because the warm air will be cut off on Sunday as an Atlantic weather system moves through from the west. This will bring outbreaks of heavy rain, leaving temperatures around normal - the mid-to-high teens. Sunday then will feel quite different to Saturday...
It also looks as though this change to something cooler and more unsettled will last into next week... June... the first week of summer!
Don't worry though, I'll keep an eye out for the return of that warm sunshine.
