Take That will perform in front of a sell-out crowd when they bring their country-spanning Greatest Hits tour to Bristol.

The iconic boy band are expected to play in front of an estimated 32,000 people when they take to the stage at Ashton Gate this evening.

It promises to be a special night for fans, some of whom have camped outside the venue since the weekend.

If you are lucky enough to have tickets, here’s everything you need to know about how to get there, where to park, what to take and when it is likely to finish.

How do I get to Ashton Gate?

Road closures, temporary parking suspensions and resident parking schemes mean there is no parking in south Bristol or Long Ashton.

The fastest way to and from Ashton Gate is on the shuttle bus services, which include free parking.

Services will run from four sites with free parking around Bristol:

  • Portway P&R

  • Brislington P&R

  • Bristol Temple Meads (no free parking)

  • The Mall, Cribbs Causeway

Guests are advised to pre-book these services on the Ashton Gate website. Shuttles will run frequently between 3pm - 7.15pm and for one hour after the event.

Public buses are also available, including:

  • M1

  • 24

  • X1, X3a & X8

  • 75 & 76

By car

Ashton Road will be closed from 1pm-2am, while Winterstoke Road will be closed from 9pm-12am.

There is no public parking around Ashton Gate for cars or motorbikes and all blue badge spaces have now sold out.

By taxi

Anyone taking a taxi is advised to travel via the following locations:

  • Pre-event: Wickes, Winterstoke Road

  • Post-event: Sainsbury’s Car Park, Winterstoke Road

What time does the concert start?

The gates to the stadium bowl will open at 5:30pm and the external catering village will open at 3pm.

Guests arrival is at 5pm for hospitality, with the event finishing at 11pm. Entertainment in hospitality will be available until 12am, and the bar will close at 12:30am.

Can I buy food and drink at the venue?

Yes, food and drink will be served at a number of outlets within the ground, including:

  • The Thatcher’s Rose Bar

  • The Gin Club & The Cocktail Bar

  • Viva Mexico

  • Feed the Goat by Tastaragga

Vegan and vegetarian options will be available and Rod Stewart’s merchandise will also be up for sale.

Concert-goers are advised there are no cash machines on-site but most vendors will accept card payment.

What items can will I NOT be allowed to take in with me?

Bags bigger than an A4 size will not be allowed and guests can only bring in a 500ml bottle of water.

The following items are also forbidden:

  • Glass, cans or flasks

  • Flammable liquids

  • Laser pens and pointers

  • Laptops, iPads and professional cameras

  • Food and drink

  • Umbrellas, signs, flags and inflatables

  • Selfie sticks

  • Air horns and whistles

  • Weapons, fireworks or sprays

Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and Ashton Gate operates a Challenge 25 policy on all sales of alcohol.

Many places will stay dry with sunny spells today, although a few showers are possible in the morning.

Showers will be confined to the far east by the afternoon.
