EU Elections 2019: How West Country local authorities voted including Bristol, Devon, Cornwall and Wiltshire
The results of the European elections 2019 are in for the South West - and it’s the Brexit Party, Lib Dems and Greens who enjoyed the most success.
Nigel Farage’s recently-launched Brexit Party won more votes across the region than any other party - securing three of the South West’s six available seats.
One of those seats was won by former Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe, who came out of political retirement to contest the election.

Remain parties also fared well, with the Liberal Democrats gaining two seats and the Greens holding theirs.
Voter turnout up
Cornwall and Plymouth voted overwhelmingly in favour of the Brexit Party - but there were also big gains for the Greens in many areas.
Labour and the Conservative Party were both completely wiped out in the South West, failing to win any seats.
Voters went to the polls on Thursday and each chose one party to represent them under a system of proportional representation.
Only 40.5 per cent of people registered to vote actually voted in the South West area - though this is up from 37 per cent in 2014.
Plymouth recorded the lowest turnout at just 34.9 per cent.
