More than 1,000 homes are without power in the Truro area following a “high voltage” incident.

Western Power Distribution (WPD) has apologised for the power cut, which has affected properties in the TR1 and TR4 areas of the Cornish city.

The power cut is due to a high voltage incident - meaning it affects a wide area - which was first reported at 6.41am.

On Twitter, WPD said they hoped to restore power by 11am.

We will update this article as and when we get more news about the power cut.
