Truro choir impress Britain’s Got Talent judges with Elton John classic
A choir from Cornwall has sailed through to the next round of Britain’s Got Talent after impressing the judges with an Elton John classic.
The Truro Cathedral Choir stunned the four judges - and the millions of viewers at home - with their moving rendition of Sir Elton’s Can You Feel The Love Tonight? on Saturday night.
In fact, Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden were so impressed, they gave the choir a standing ovation.
Christopher Gray, Truro Cathedral’s director of music, said it was at this precise moment he thought “maybe this has gone alright”.

Truro’s Cathedral Choir records charity single to remember Grenfell
Following their performance on Saturday night, Truro Cathedral Choir were quickly named one of the favourites - with odds to win the competition as low as 16/1.
Christopher revealed the choir will find out if they’ve made it through to the live semi-finals this weekend.
