Murder probe launched in Sherborne after man in 70s dies
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 70-year-old man in Sherborne.
Police were called to an address in Ridgeway on Tuesday (May 21) evening following a report of a serious assault.
Upon arrival, officers found a man aged in his 70s in need of urgent medical treatment.
He was airlifted to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.
A 36-year-old man from Sherborne, meanwhile, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police say the victim and alleged offender were known to each other.
