Brittany Ferries says Easter bookings are down 15% on 2018
Brittany Ferries has reported that Easter bookings are down 15% because of Brexit.
The company runs ferries from Plymouth to Spain and France.
Passenger bookings are down more than 5,000 over the Easter weekend compared to 2018.
Passenger numbers across the whole of the Easter holidays are down 13% compared to last year, a drop of 23,000.
It says Brexit is to blame, many customers are holding off on booking trips abroad until the outcome of Brexit becomes clear.
They also confirmed that overall bookings for the summer are down 10% compared to last summer.
Christopher Jones from Brittany Ferries said, "The deadline date is a like an oasis on the horizon of a desert.
"And until we have certainly some customers will naturally hold off making their plans."
