Happy Holi! Hundreds celebrate Hindu ‘festival of colour’ in Swindon

More than a thousand people came together in Swindon to celebrate the Hindu Holi festival.

Also known as the 'Festival of Colours, the event is celebrated across the world with the throwing of colourful paints and water.

The festival traditionally marks the end of winter and the start of spring, and is a celebration of unity.

Organiser Pradeep Bhardwaj said Holi is so much more than simply a religious event.
