Armed police have arrested a man following reports of someone wielding a Samurai sword in Gloucester.

Emergency services were alerted at around 2.15pm on Tuesday 19 March after a man was seen carrying the blade near the Tredworth High Street area of the city.

He was eventually arrested near Victory Road.

A spokesperson from Gloucestershire Police said:

Nobody was harmed and police have recovered the sword.
