The best places in the West Country to enjoy the sunshine this February half-term

Half term usually makes grim reading for parents, especially in February, but this week the weather looks like offering a chance to get out and about with the kids because we could see a bit of sunshine and also some high temperatures.

Admittedly, the next couple of days will be fairly cloudy but we should still see temperatures up to 11 or 12 Celsius.

There could be a little bit of rain around on Wednesday. However, from Thursday, we tap into southerly winds which means highs closer to 14 degrees.

Then on Friday, helped by some sunshine, temperatures could get as high as 16 Celsius in a few places.

The north coast of Devon, north Somerset and across Gloucestershire look best placed for the warmest weather. The average for February is only around 9 degrees - so make the most of it while you can.

However, it's worth bearing in mind that sea temperatures at this time of year are only between 8 and 10 Celsius, so while southerly winds will bring some warmth to many, the south coast is likely to feel quite a bit cooler.

Something to think about before heading to the beach!
