Man jailed in 'mindless act of vandalism' on Swindon's Cenotaph
A man has been jailed for a "mindless act of violence" which saw 50 poppy wreaths thrown around a Cenotaph.
Ashwani Kumar pleaded guilty to outraging public decency after Swindon police officers discovered the wreaths strewn across the ground in the early hours of Saturday 12 January.
The 54-year-old, of no fixed address, has since apologised for his "shameful actions".
He was jailed for eight weeks and ordered to pay £115 to fund victim services.
