Swimmer airlifted to hospital from Praa Sands

A swimmer has been airlifted to hospital after being rescued from the sea at Praa Sands.

Two kayakers had spotted the person in difficulty and managed to bring them to shore as emegency services were called in to help at around 4pm on Boxing Day.

The Coastguard Rescue Helicopter flew the casualty to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.

It’s understood they are not seriously ill.
