Household rubbish bins in Cornwall will be collected every two weeks from 2020, councillors have confirmed.

The county will move from weekly to fortnightly black bin collections, with recyclable plastic, glass, paper and cardboard picked up every week.

The move is designed to boost low recycling rates.

From mid-2020 Cornwall Council will also start collecting food waste.

Households will be provided with wheelie bins and 'seagull-proof sacks' for non-recyclable waste.
