Just after 5 o'clock this evening, visitors were enjoying a skate on the ice rink at Weston-super-Mare's Tropicana when a fire broke out.

120 people had to leave the venue and one woman was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Eight firefighters made up from Weston, Avonmouth, Bedminster and Yatton crews tackled the blaze which was out within three hours.

Avon and Somerset Police also attended but the cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.

The tented roof of the Tropicana has been destroyed but it's believed the ice rink has not been badly damaged.
