There's been more strike action on South Western Railway (SWR) services today with some trains cancelled or replaced with buses across the west country.

Today's strike has affected rugby fans travelling to Twickenham for England’s international game against South Africa. They were advised to allow extra time, especially those who live in the West of England.

SWR said it will run a reduced timetable, with buses replacing trains on some routes including Salisbury to Exeter while other areas will have no trains or replacement buses.

The walkout by members of the Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union is the latest in a long running dispute over changes to the role of guards on trains.

The RMT Union has thanked people for their support saying that they believe the role of guards on trains is important for the safety of passengers and staff.

But in a statement, South Western Railway say their plans include 'more guards on trains not fewer'.

Further strikes are planned for 17th and 24th November.
