The heart-warming moment a tiny dog is rescued after being cut off by rising tide

A small terrier had to be rescued from the sea after she became cut off by the rising tide.

Weston-super-Mare RNLI was called into action to bring Bella to safety after she managed to escaped during maintenance work on her home.

Crews were called at around 14.45pm on Saturday (20 October) to reports of a small dog stranded in rising water at Knightstone Island. The Westie was rescued and taken to Weston's lifeboat station.

The RNLI team have posted a heart-warming video of the rescue on social media and has been viewed almost 20,000 times.

Thankfully Bella has now been reunited with her owner.
