Severn Bridge to be toll-free from December

The Severn Crossing tolls will be abolished in December, it has been announced.

From December 17 all vehicles using the bridges in and out of Wales will be able to travel for free.

At the moment, these are the rates:

In January VAT was removed from the tolls - the first time prices decreased since their introduction in 1966.

It's hoped by removing the tolls economic links and the prospects of South Wales and the South West of England will be strengthened.
