Residents may not be able to return home after fire destroys Plymouth tower block
Residents forced to evacuate their flats after a devastating fire at a tower block in Plymouth may not be able to return home, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.
They told ITV News that it is unclear whether residents will be able to go back, and local authorities are working to ensure that accommodation will be provided.
A large number of emergency crews tackled the blaze at the six storey block on Savage road earlier today (5 September).
The fire and rescue service confirmed that the fire started within a ground floor flat.
All residents have now been accounted for and the blaze is under control, but it remains unclear whether or not they can return home.
