More than 4,000 people sign petition against redevelopment of a park in Westward Ho!
More than 4,000 people have signed a petition against the redevelopment of a park in Westward Ho! in North Devon.
The plans would see much of the land given away to housing, with only a small area left for public use.
It forms part of a growing trend across the region, with more than half of councils in the South West considering selling some of their green spaces.
Torridge District Council insist its plans will see improved playground facilities along with a community centre, and an overall better use of the space.
But a campaign group will soon present them with the petition demanding to retain the whole space.
