Man sentenced after high-speed police pursuit in Wiltshire
A man has been handed time behind bars after pleading guilty to dangerous driving.
It follows a police pursuit in January 2018 along the A346 southbound from Chiseldon towards Marlborough.
31-year-old Elton Qerimi failed to stop for police when he was spotted swerving on the road with a flat tyre.
He was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for 18, and has been disqualified from driving for 18 months
During the chase, Qerimi drove at nearly 100mph with just three inflated tyres.
Eventually the flat tyre shed the vehicle and he lost control of the car, escaping while it was still moving.
The 31-year-old, formerly from Malborough, appeared at Swindon Crown Court.
Qerimi has also been given a curfew and will undertake rehabilitation activities.
PC Will Ayres from Wiltshire Police said: "I hope this court result sends a clear message to those who fail to adhere to the laws of the road that you will be put before the court and will have to face the consequences of your actions.”
