Cheltenham Town say the board have 'parted company' with manager Gary Johnson after more than 3 years with him in charge at the club.

Assistant Manager Russell Milton was put in temporary charge after a one all draw at Macclesfield on Tuesday night.

There were warnings the 62 year old was on his way out when he was called in front of the board after Cheltenham's 1-0 defeat to Carlisle on Saturday.

After spells at Cambridge United, Yeovil, Bristol City, Peterborough United and Northampton Town - Johnson successfully steered the Robins back into the Football League in 2016-17 following relegation the season before.
