Footage has emerged of a young Muslim mother being asked by a bus driver to remove her full-face veil, also known as a Niqab.

The incident took place on the 1st July on the number 24 bus near Easton.

The footage appears to show the driver saying, "I care because the world is dangerous. If you don't see somebody's face, that's not good."

Passengers in the video can be seen defending the woman's right to wear her Niqab.

First bus has apologised to the customer and said the driver has been subject to disciplinary procedures.

In a statement they told ITV News:

Avon and Somerset Police is currently investigating a complaint of hate crime.
