Two men have been sentenced to 14 years in prison after being caught with nearly half a million pounds worth of heroin in Gloucester.

30-year-old Mohammed Majid from Milton Keynes has been sentenced to 9 years in prison.

47-year-old Kasim Atcha from Gloucester has been sentenced to 5 years.

The men were arrested in February after ten compressed blocks of heroin were found in a bin liner inside the boot of Majid's hire car.

The blocks weighed a total of 5kg and had a street value of around £482,000, according to the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit.

It's believed that the drugs had been brought into the area for sale on Gloucester's streets.
