Zara Tindall gives birth to baby girl in Stroud

Zara Tindall has given birth to a baby girl at Stroud Maternity Unit in Gloucestershire.

Buckingham Palace confirmed a baby girl was safely delivered on Monday 18th June weighing 9lbs 3oz.

Zara, the daughter of Princess Anne, had her husband Mike Tindall by her side at the birth.

A name will be confirmed at a later date.

This is the second child for Zara and Mike, after their first daughter Mia was born in January 2014.

The happy announcement comes more than a year after the couple faced heartbreak when Zara suffered a miscarriage just before Christmas in 2016.

The new arrival is does not have a royal title, but is now 19th in line to the throne and the Queen's seventh great-grandchild.

Zara, a champion equestrian rider who won a team silver in the London 2012 Olympics, and former England rugby player Tindall have been together for 15 years and married in Edinburgh in July 2011.
