Vandals hit pre-school for children with special needs

Vandals have broken into the playground of a preschool for children with special needs in Bath and smashed up a summer house used as an outdoor classroom and safe space.

It happened at Bath Opportunity Pre-school in Odd Down over the weekend, 28-29 April 2018.

Those responsible smashed the windows of the house, graffitied the inside walls and ceiling, smoked inside the house and also drag some specialist equipment outside where they proceeded to set fire to it.

One parent, Mandy Savin, said "It's such a sad story for a school that does so much for children that have the enough to deal with".

Both Bath Opportunity Pre-school and neighbouring school Threeways have taken extra security measures this week, including installing CCTV and security lighting.

The preschool has set up a fundraising page to pay for the summer house to be repaired.
