Aardman Animations confirms Chicken Run 2 is on the way

Bristol based Aardman Animations have announced that a Chicken Run 2 is on the way.

The original film saw a group of chickens attempting to escape a Yorkshire poultry farm.

An announcement on Aardman's social media confirmed that Rocky and Ginger will reappear on our screens soon.

It's been 18 years since the first film was released and then went on to be nominated for a BAFTA and Golden Globe.

It became an instant hit, earning a a worldwide gross of $225 million, the highest ever for a stop-motion film.

Chicken Run 2 will be co-financed and distributed by StudioCanal andPathé UK and will be the next release after the Shaun the Sheep Movie.

Earlier this year, the Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park and Aardman also released a new prehistoric comedy adventure, called Early Man.
