Families remember loved ones killed in Basel air disaster
Family members of those killed in the Basel air disaster are remembering their loved ones 45 years on.
Flight IM 435 crashed en route to the Swiss resort on 10th April 1973 whilst flying from Bristol Airport.
108 people lost their lives in the tragedy.
Some families lost as many as 11 members as a result of the crash.
The majority of passengers were women and it left 55 children without their mothers.
Many people have visited the memorial site in Switzerland to remember loved ones they lost 45 years ago.
The crash had a massive impact on many tight-knit communities in North Somerset.
Pilot error is believed to have been the cause of the incident.
The incident remains the deadliest aviation disaster in Switzerland's history.
David Besley was 17 years old when the crash happened.
He saved the lives of seven people including his own mother.
