Tom Daley has withdrawn from the individual 10m diving competition at the Commonwealth Games because of a hip injury.

Daley, who is from Plymouth, is the current champion having won the event at the previous two games.

Although he was favourite to defend his title, the 23-year-old had been struggling with a hip injury going into the games.

He will still enter the synchronised 10m platform this Friday with Olympic partner Dan Goodfellow.
