Delays on M5 following three serious incidents

Drivers are being told to expect delays after three serious incidents on the M5 between junction 25 (Taunton) and junction 26 (Wellington) and a separate incident between junction 28 (Cullompton) and junction 29 (Exeter).

The Somerset stretch of motorway is closed southbound following the two incidents.

The first incident between junction 25 and junction 26 took place just after 6.00am and the second between junction 28 and junction 29 took place at 6.45am this morning.

Emergency services are at the scene.

Meanwhile a man has died in a separate incident near junction 28 in Devon.

Highways England says it is likely the Southbound carriageway in Somerset will remain closed beyond the morning peak and drivers are urged to consider delaying their journeys or use alternative routes.
